Most of Newfoundland’s population is descendent from Southwest England and Southern Ireland.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s colorful history is honored and is one of the last French-English battle sites in North America. St. John’s is the capital of the province, and is highly influenced by its coastal culture and traditions. The recent boom in energy and natural resources sectors contribute to this province’s fast economic growth. Newfoundland and Labrador’s provincial nominee program is called NLPNP (Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program). Successful candidates, post nomination by the province will receive the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nomination Certificate. Applicants who are successfully nominated by the province need to undergo the medical and police/penal clearances by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada). The NLPNP applications fall in the fast-track category, which means the processing time for NLPNP applications are comparatively less. Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) consists of 3 immigration streams. They are:

  • Newfoundland & Labrador Skilled Worker Category
  • Newfoundland & Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker
  • Newfoundland & Labrador International Graduate Category

Each of these programs have been designed to meet the province’s need of having a strong workforce to meet its growing demands. To know more about these immigration streams, contact us.
Apart from the above streams, the province also offers business immigration options wherein persons with business interests or ideas in the province may apply for permanent residency along with their family members (spouse or common-law partner as well as dependents).
